Lakes Pucón and Villarica
PUCON
In the north of the Lake & Volcanoes district, is Pucon, whose name translates roughly to “entrance by the mountains” in Mapudungun, the language of the native Mapuche people.
It takes just over an hour to fly to Temuco, leaving a 40 minute drive to reach this beautiful town surrounded by the Lake Villarica and its imposing volcano.
Pucon’s strategic location means that not only does it benefit from this breathtaking view, but it is also the perfect point of departure for various adventures, such as climbing the volcano, rafting, discovering the indigenous culture, and even enjoying the marvelous hot springs, all of which can be done throughout the year.
