The Port of Valparaiso

Known as the Jewel of the Pacific, Valparaiso is a World Heritage Site famous for its quirky town planning and unique architecture. It is the largest cruise terminal on South America’s Pacific coast and the picturesque harbour is surrounded by several fascinating hills, making it a must see destination.

Feel the inspiration of the port’s culture and bohemian life, like painters, musicians and poets, such as the Chilean poet and Nobel laureate, Pablo Neruda, whose house in Valparaiso has been converted into a museum where visitors can discover a whole new perspective.

Delight yourself with the excellent seafood offered by its restaurants, the amazing viewpoints for taking spectacular photos of the bay and explore its narrow, colorful streets. Close to Valparaiso is the city of Viña del Mar, also known as the Garden City, renowned for its numerous attractions, casino and beautiful beaches.

Valparaiso is also the gateway to the wine regions and Santiago, with the imposing Andes Mountains standing behind the capital.
